Will the first flight be on Monday? Now that RTO was completed for this bird, FF together with ferry flight or not could take place any time and why not today Monday unless there were problems found that needed to be fixed prior to this FF. Last week, MSN 173 went twice to the Bikini area suggesting that at least something needed to be re-tested. As of Monday morning, MSN 173 still displays last week callsign: BAW173ER: fr24.com/BAW173ER

MSN 173 just took off from TLS at 8:45 AM UTC as AIB01SB: fr24.com/AIB01SBFirst flight for the 9th BA A380. We will, as usual, see later on if this FF will evolve into a ferry flight to XFW

Slightly unusual FF, or is it normal? For first flights, most of them happen closer to TLS you are right sunjet. But if I recall well, I have seen this type of flight path before for a first flight but it is not common. At this stage, I don't think that anything allows us to say normal or not. If this FF was to become also Ferry Flight to XFW for MSN 173, we could however see the bird go directly to XFW without the usual low flight above TLS runway. But since this is a BA bird, it will eventually come back before delivery.

It's a usual FF for other type of Airbus, first part at high altitude over Atlantic and 2nd part at mid altitude over Pyrenees.

MSN 173 now seems to be heading to TLS - to land back there or to perform a low pass before flying away to XFW ?
