I believe this frame will be delivered either 26 or 27 of this month. Let's see if my guess is correct.

To me, this frame is special. I remember during the years up until 2008 Emirates were ordering a bunch of A380s here and there (5, 17, 21, 2, 4, 8, 1 or so) until they had 58 of them on order. For a while this number remained fixed, until in 2010, to a surprise of many, they ordered 32 more. This caused some shockwaves throughout the industry, with legacy carriers wondering what is Emirates up to and being unable to figure that one out. That order was discussed a lot, and I think that even the latest order of 50 frames did not cause such a big stir. As you probably have already figured out, MSN 172 is the first frame of that order of 32 frames, as it is number 59. Thus, this frame to me is a little special As for Emirates, I wish them best of luck.

I also think that having fully executed the previous contracts is the main reason why Airbus is set to break even. Previous deliveries were late, and Airbus had to pay to EK a hefty compensation, most probably coming as an additional price discount. Now, Airbus has left the issue behind it, and enjoys much better financial prospects.
