I saw her years before when A380 MSN 038 LH#1 arrived @ XFW: a380.boards.net/post/542/threadThe largest and tiniest Airbus side by side Since then I wanted a combination of both in 2D to see the real difference. It happened last thursday when she landed 20 minutes after D-AIML @ HAM - with some more light. So I combined two shots. It's not perfect but shows what I meant. Nearly the same position, correct resized D-AIML & A6-ACJ - approaching HAM rwy 23 - 2014.06.05

I am flying LCY to JFK at the beginning of July on BA1, AKA Speedbird 1 of Concorde fame. A A318 in 32 seat business class formation, so not the true business CCJ....... We stop at Shannon to refuel and clear US Immigration/customs so arrive as a domestic in the US. BA have two 318's for this service, slightly adapted for the STOL requirements of LCY. G-EUNA and G-EUNB. A moment of extravagance, I fly back in economy from YYZ on a BA 777! I love the photo of G-XLEA nose to nose with one of these 318's at Shannon......JT

A340-200 was even less: 25 built (and 3 announced but not built) and only 30 A340-500's made it to flight. I suppose they all belong to the same family of aircraft but they all had to be certified, costing money for the manufacturer. Then only selling so few frames must be an ouch-experience.
