The quality of Spiegel Online is not much above BILD any more, right? Here, the headline says that "every tenth door has to be modified", which in the teaser has become "every tenth aircraft".

This is hardly an issue because safety is not compromised. Customers can replace the door during regular maintenance.

Well, unlike the wing crack, it's not a safety issue. Just an annoying issue for the airline.
No need for sarcasm: new doors can be ordered and delivered to the maintenance facility. Aircraft parts are being replaced all the time. And sure, the doors are not cheap, but we're talking about a few doors only.

If I understand correctly, the doors don't need to be replaced, only some parts that seal them.

The replacement of aircraft doors can be a nightmare.You can`t compare it with an engine or landinggear change. Each door an each fuselage are slightly different from others.The worst thing is to adjust the door: pls imagine you need to take a lot measurements of an area with a very limited accessibility because the door is closed !After hours of work it might happen that with differential pressure in flight applied, you need to start again due to noise or leaks.
