This very A380, formerly known as Prince "San Francisco", today got renamed "Deutschland" in a ceremony at Frankfurt by Chancellor Merkel and LH CEO Spohr.

More likely to promote LH after all the strikes ! Cities do have to have a country to be in, so a country and many cities ?

The bird was formerly named "San Francisco". Now they scratched off that name, put a "Deutschland" sticker over it, and today she will be sent on her way again. Where to? Exactly! [from here]

They seemed to name their A380s after Star-Alliance hub cities before. Strange to peel of a name after such a short time in service.
