It looks like Air China is posting on their Facebook page about the 747-8I coming into their fleet this year. www.wcarn.com/news/32/32563.htmlIt looks like they may receive up to 3 frames this year.

Sooo shiny. There should do a reverse AA and switch to a polished metal livery!

When is it planned for delivery?.. I don't recall ever having seen a firm date. People have been saying it was a malfunction of some kind that caused it to have to wait to get painted, but it has been re-scheduled for June? Perhaps it will deliver then. Maybe there will be some combined ceremony to go with the delivery of LN 1500 to LH, which is tentatively scheduled for June as well?

It appears that Air China has had a team working the simulators with Boeing, and that they expect delivery of their first frame in October of this year. This is, of course, assuming that Google Translate didn't lie to me and that I am interpreting what it spit out correctly. :-)

With the impending painting of the first frame for Air China, it probably makes sense to have a thread like this as well. Today, Boeing released a whole bunch of rendered images of the Air China 747-8I, calling it the "new flagship of China" and noting that "Air China will use the 747-8I to expand its international routes".

It's not the best angle, and it's from a distance, but it looks like 1499 is out of paint! Source: @mattcawby
