I think it looked better in silver! Thanks for the pic, I can't wait to see other pictures soon.

It's a dated livery, but I think it goes very well on the venerable 747. I would like to see a refreshed livery for their A350s and 787s however. China Southern did a brilliant job with their 787.

I do think it does look good with the lights on it. The titles do seem to be larger, which I think makes it look nicer as well.
Who knows, maybe they wanted a classic version, but later frames may have an updated version? :-)

Who knows, maybe they wanted a classic version, but later frames may have an updated version? :-) Could happen but they have just 7 frames on order. We'll see when the next one comes out of paint. Maybe they ought to use the 748i's sunrise livery and do something like China Airlines' special Boeing hybrid livery on one of their 744s. But, it's been repainted to the regular livery as of recent.

Wow. I found a pretty neat video shared by @chinaavreview that details the construction, painting, and rollout of 1499. Looks like an official Boeing video, but I don't see it yet over on the 747 website. I'm guessing it will end up there eventually. Tangentially, it looks like the "Who's Flying" section has been updated to show Transaero as well. Interestingly, it still lists Arik Air as well. Enjoy!

Too bad: the video has been removed.

Too bad: the video has been removed. Yeah, that is odd. Luckily, WCARN has put it up again. Check it out here. :-)
