Could it be APD is slipping behind schedule, causing Etihad to change schedules in Q4? Airlineroute.net announced quite a few changes this week on flights to London. Some have been changed to A340-600 again. Having book EY20 myself on October 15, I am relieved but not completely at ease that mine is still showing as a A380 flight. So is my return flight EY17 on October 30. So I started wondering if this all is a snowball effect of the hicups that seem to have happened to this frame since her First Flight. Hoping for the Best..... (if you end not having an A380 on EY20, perhaps could you change it with no fee explaining that you travel essentially to taste their A380?.....)

Certainly I will, Fabien, so every update on the Etihad schedule will get my attention. They sent me an email and sms this week to tell me EY20 already was delayed 15 minutes. And I haven't even packed my suitcase! Also: I booked my flights early to take advtange of the Business Class saver price, but Etihad decided in October that one comes without the chauffeur drive. I was adviced by Etihad Customer Service to make a complain about that and officially they are still studying it, but my e-tickets with the new EY20 STD clearly say I am not eligible for the service. I told them I could have booked Amsterdam-Dubai by Emirates, but that I wanted to experience their A380. No reaction so far. Anyway, this has nothing to do with MSN180...

MSN184 is currently on its way to XFW, another one that overtakes MSN180.

These 2 flights today strengthen my idea that either something is wrong with MSN180 either they're testing something new..... Flight number xxxER usually indicates engine run. So I would say FabienA380 is right and AB started over after a few test flights.
