That sounds inefficient, two convoys to carry 1 frame.
The 'old' convoys carried pieces from two MSN's.

I do not believe they would send half a frame. The convoy is a significant effort - remove and put back various things on the way etc.... They have all the technology and processes for movement of the whole frame.

Airbus has consistenly been informing that A380 production is planned to be stable in 2015 and 2016 (I am not sure about 2017). We may not know which customers will receive them, but Airbus should ... The convoy schedule is another reassertion of the 30/year production rate.
As regards incomplete convoys, they only happen when production is being disrupted at one of the production sites, as was the case in 2012 when the Broughton factory transitioned to production of the new A380 wing.

The reason for the last split convoys were the stranding of the ship carrying the wings. Splitting convoys without a special reason should be inefficient. If Airbus would decrease production we would see fewer convoys. So we should rather speculate who will take 29 (29 convoys in 2014) to 30 frames in 2015 and 30 frames in 2016. Their will be either more customers and/or Emirates takes more frames than talked about here.
