2016 deliveries (A380)

July has almost ended and we haven't seen a single delivery, which has been a long time ago. EUC must have a role in this, but you get the impression that production has already slowed down a bit.

Aug 2016.

the Emirates´#83  A380-861 aircraft - MSN 214, reg. A6-EUC (test reg. F-WWAJ), with the cabin configuration F14 C76 Y429 and powered by four logo  GP7270 twin-shaft turbofans (fan diameter: 116,0 in / 2.946,4 mm; engine architecture: F+5LPC-9HPC ^ 2HPT-6LPT), each rated at 332,44 kN / 33.899 kgf / 74.735 lbf, delivered to the Emirates on 10. Sep 2016, flying on the route XFW- DXB. This was the 16th A380 delivery in 2016 and  195th altogether ..

The architecture of the  GP7270 engine, F+5LPC-9HPC ^ 2HPT-6LPT, is more similar to that one of the GE90 engine with the 128" fan, F+4LPC-9HPC ^ 2HPT-6LPT, applied on the Boeing 777- 200LR´s and Boeing 777- 300ER´s engines: GE90-110B1, rated at 492,69 kN / 50.240 kgf / 110.760 lbf and GE90-115B, rated at 513,95 kN / 52.408 kgf / 115.540 lbf, than to that of the GE90 engines with the 123" fan, F+3LPC-10HPC ^ 2HPT-6LPT, applied on the other Boeing 777 models: 777-200, 777-200ER and 777-300.



GP7200 engine´s 116" wide chord hollow titanium fan comprises 24 swept fan blades and was built by  as and 5-stage LPC (booster) which design was based on Pratt & Whitney´s PW4000-112 engine.  

GP7200´s 9-stage HPC design was based on that of the GE90 (128" fan) engine.

Single annular combustor (SAC), built by , was derived from  and  technologies.  

The 2-stage HPT´s design is also based on that one of the GE90 engine, and the 6-stage LPT´s on PW4000-112 engine´s as and, already mentioned, GP7200´s 5-stage LPC.

Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC), built by , was based on GE90 and CFM technologies.  

Accessory gearbox, built by , is core mounted with the shorter tower shaft for better maintainability. It has internally cored lubrication passage which minimizes external plumbing and oil leakage potential...  

Maximum rotational speed of the GP7200´s LP rotor, N1, is 2.738 rpm (111 %), and that of HP rotor, N2, 13.060 rpm (118,75 %).

GP7200 engine´s BPR is 8,8:1 and the OPR, at takeoff, 36,1.

One model of the  GP7200 engine has been used, so far, on the Airbus A380 aircraft, and this is the GP7270, rated at 332,44 kN / 33.899 kgf / 74.735 lbf, the one that powers Airbus A380-861 aircraft type, delivered to AF, EK, EY, KE and QR.
117 Airbus A380 aircraft were delivered with that type of engine so far.
