My goodness - it is weird. I do not understand how was it possible to fix the heavy engine making huge drag onto the wing, and the VH-OJN just could continue normal service !

Wow, that is a strange looking configuration. I'm guessing that the extra engine is non-functional. But what about the stress on the wing? Why couldn't they just use some other transport plane instead of the extra engineering effort to mount it safely onto the wing?

It does, and this is why the range in decreased as fuel burn ingreases Wow, that is a strange looking configuration. I'm guessing that the extra engine is non-functional. There is a built in attachement point in the 747 wing, so the operation is quite straight forward

There are some more plane types with more than 4 engines. 6 engines e.g. B-47 Stratocruiser, Me 323 Gigant, BV 222, BV238 8 engines Spruce Goose, 12 engines Do X
