Olivier CABARET who took the above pic seems to be living in St Nazaire from what I can tell from other pics in his Flickr gallery The pic was taken on Nov 21st; yesterday. Assuming that MSN 188 parts were still in St Nazaire, would there be enough time for them to make it to Langon (from where A380 road convoys start) by Nov 26th when convoy # 28 will start. To reach Langon, A380 parts will need: - from St Nazaire need to be loaded on a boat to Pauillac (near Bordeaux); - From Pauillac, they need to be loaded on special boats to go down the Garonne river So even if the parts did ship today Nov 22nd or even yesterday, this is quite a tied schedule for convoy starting next wednesday evening aNov 26th lthough not impossible. Hé hé !!!!! all members who already placed your bets for convoy # 28 on MSN 188, do you want to reconsider your vote ? .......... LOL

Well the boat would take some 15-20 hours to Pauillac and the river boat trip is bellow 100 km - so another cca 10 hours, so essentially there is enough time - 4 days. Probably two days should be sufficient. The loading - reloading should not be such a big deal - it is just few - large pieces, but the technology to load - unload them is well proven and there are sufficient cranes... in both ports for sure.
Just consider that to load huge container ship with many thousands 40 ft containers takes 6-10 hours, so....

s543; yes there could be enough time. But also remember that some other parts are already in Langon like the wings: a380.boards.net/post/39863 for this convoy # 28. I know that the wings come from the UK but there are there quite ahead of time before the convoy. This is why I am wondering about the fuselage pieces being still in St Nazaire yesterday
