But it's pretty interesting that there is a silence from QR side. No "Airbus can't make planes" comments and the like... Maybe Airbus did everything right, but QR wants last minute change? In response to EY? Pure speculation from my side, but who knows

QR delays A380 service to London Heathrow until 01AUG14 at the earliest. The saga continues... Sounds to me like they play the same games as they did with the 787s ... QR seems never to be ready to accept a plane without making trouble ... maybe some negotiations about further A380s are on the table and Airbus did not drop the price enough and so they try to create trouble? I can already see the A350 EIS slipping into 2015 because of this. Let's not forget Cargolux's first 748 which was delayed for a while (Cargolux is partly owned by QR) Hopefully they've taken enough care with the A350 to avoid having QR delay delivery. Back to the A380, I guess a Qatar A380 at Farnborough is now off the cards

I guess a Qatar A380 at Farnborough is now off the cards. Well Airbus could always fly MSN137 to Farnborough.

I think all these comments about QR pressure and supposed threats to delay A380 or A350 entry into service are extremely exaggerated.
QR has repeatedly expressed deep satisfaction about the way the A350 programme has been managed by Airbus, and the airline has been communicating about the upcoming A380 and A350 entry into service. QR also intends to stage an Airbus multi-aircraft show in Farnborough. All this points to a deeply committed customer, an excellent relationship between QR and Airbus, and a common interest in a quick and successful beginning of A380/A350 operations.
Of course, QR is a picky customer caring for perfect interiors - this is well-known, and it should be no surprise that they refuse to take delivery whenever the carpet is not to their liking.
A380 deliveries have been delayed by one month, or maybe a little more, this not much of a problem. Hopefully Airbus representatives are not as impatient as some members of this forum. Don't panic, take a breath !

All true philidor, and 1 or 2 months delay for the A380 won't harm the program. I also haven't said that QR is not satisfied with the A380 and/or A350. On the contrary. The only thing I'm concerned about, if there's a similar delay for the A350 then EIS will slip into 2015. And the media will have plenty negative stories to write.

And the media will have plenty negative stories to write. Aboulafia?? Yes, for example. But other news media will also line up to generate the views, I can already see the headlines "troubled A350 jet delayed to 2015, Airbus shares down" etc. Ah, maybe it's just a gut feeling

You may be right as far as the media are concerned, but I think QR does not want any bad press spoiling their party !

I think QR does not want any bad press spoiling their party ! While true, they had no problems delaying their first A380s after the wing crack discovery. Anyway, we will see!

While true, they had no problems delaying their first A380s after the wing crack discovery. Their CEO only wants the best (carpets...) Sorry, couldn't resist
