The timing of the 'news' is 'interesting', it could just be journalist's speculation, helping to fill in during a period when there is no hard news. No that would be too cycnical ..... Blomberg's confirmation is backed by insider sources. Usually, such assertions coming from them are quite reliable, and in this particular case the confirmation came with other confidential information making it even more credible. Additionally, Airbus previously voted for ANA against one of their major customers (Delta), strongly suggesting some undisclosed deal between the two companies.

The whole thing is interesting. The problem might be peculiar Skymark cabin. But is well over a year needed to rectify this problem ?
True is that AB needs to get rid of those 3 frames sitting idly in TLS and eating/blocking money doing nothing - going nowhere.
I believe only thing that can be said:
"WE WILL SEE"

The problem might be peculiar Skymark cabin ... I don't think it is much of a problem since none of the ex-Skymark frames has been fitted out. Plumbing may be the only special re-work that has to to be performed. Completion would then be the usual XFW work.

Or want their own unique design ? It seems to take longer to sort out the seats, gallies and loos than build the plane ! That might be the reason for the long lead time to delivery of the frames?

Somehow I remember from somewhere that for a new customer the lead time to organise everything (outfit,...) is between 1.5 and 2 years.

Somehow I remember from somewhat here that for a new customer the lead time to organise everything (outfit,...) is between 1.5 and 2 years. I seem to remember hearing the same thing (From John Leahy I believe) As to whether they'd get more than 3 A380s, if they're planning to fly the aircraft to HNL which is normally a leisure destination, I'd imagine they'd configure the aircraft in a dense configuration. However, I believe most of ANA's longer flights are in a less dense, premium heavy config although there are a few flights in a denser config to South East Asian destinations. I'm not sure how many destinations in Asia can support the A380 for ANA and unless they plan to have 2 configs (or serve HNL with a premium heavy aircraft) I doubt they'll be sending the aircraft on routes to N America or Europe.

ATDB allocated 3 msn with delivery dates to ANA: msn 162 2016 msn 167 2017 msn 185 2017 According to me msn 162 will be delivered in 2017, others msn has right deliver dates.

A delivery in 2016 is not going to happen, some cabin parts have a lead time of 1.5 years.

Seems to me that both ATDB and Bloomberg are guessing.
Probably the truth is going to be somewhere in the middle.
True is that the original BC configuration was (just to remember) 114 J and 280 Y+
i.e. complete nonsense for Tokyo Hawai operation, so the change in the cabin configuration is probably total ! It probably can not be done in less than a year - a lot must be probably made to order.....
It will take some time but close to three years ?
