This makes very little sense why they would reconsider the decision to order the plane after being taken over by a large aircraft maker with more extensive support network such as Airbus. The only thing that I can think of is if they want to see whether Airbus changes anything about the A220. My guess is that they hope to get better terms (whether pricing or production slots). Notice how they hint at an increased MAX order instead ! This is a sign that a negotiation is starting.

Changing the flying software would be a difficult and costly undertaking. It would also create a huge difference between A220s and all aircraft delivered to the first CSeries customers. On the other hand, I am not sure most customers would be interested in having a single A320/A220 pilot pool.
Altogether, much pain and cost for a small benefit, in my opinion.

They might have to re-certify significant chunks and even re-write millions of lines of codes.

They might have to re-certify significant chunks and even re-write millions of lines of codes. Certainly, and when they are through they would face disgruntled early customers crying that the changes are depreciating their aircraft, and demanding compensation ! EDIT : I realise that this is a pictures thread, and that we should not have this kind of discussion here !

Ah yes sorry, my fault. Move to general discussion?

Damn. Sad to see the aircraft scrapped as a result of not being taken up and subsequent neglect of proper storage.
