Yep, brilliant! Can Airbus manage such nos. without further rate increase? IndiGo orders another 300 A320neo-family jets 29 October, 2019 SOURCE: Cirium Dashboard BY: Jonathan Robins London www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/indigo-orders-another-300-a320neo-family-jets-461861/Indian budget carrier IndiGo has placed a firm order for 300 Airbus A320neo-family jets – a mix of A320neos, A321neos and A321XLRs. The deal, described by the airframer as "one of Airbus's largest aircraft orders ever with a single airline operator", brings IndiGo's A320neo-family total to 730.

As it is Airbus is ramping to 60 frames a month, should have been reached about middle of the year, but I think they are not there yet. The next ramp should be to 63 frames a month next year. This sales campaigns go over a long time and I assume Airbus has planned with the Indigo order.

The engine type choice has still to be made. As the airline is using both types, we'll see a terrible fight, though Indigo may well split the order again.

You are right, it seems that Airbus has delayed the ramp up to 63 frames. I assume they still have problems with the 60 rate.

I duplicate my post in the 'A321XLR' thread. another order for a321XLR from Vietjet (earlier was 15 ordered + now 20 = total 35 a321XLR ordered) From the Reuters article above : "In September, Reuters reported that Airbus sold 15 A321 XLR jets to VietJet. Airbus on Thursday confirmed that VietJet had placed a new order for 15 XLR and said another 5 would be converted to the new jet from the A321neo model". I find the wording far from clear. Is VietJet's -XLR total to be 20 (15 existing orders + 5 conversions) or 35 (15 existing orders + 15 new orders + 5 conversions) ? In other words, is Airbus set to book 15 new orders ( as I understand - EDIT) or none ? No matter, the headline is "Vietnam's VietJet orders 20 Airbus A321XLR aircraft" ... EDIT : I just only read Airbus' release posted by Kevin in the 'Airbus orders 2019' thread. It is still unclear, but I now guess the total is 20, which would mean no new order other than the September one. "Vietnamese carrier Vietjet has announced that it will add the A321XLR to its fleet, with a firm order for 15 aircraft and the conversion of five A321neo aircraft from its existing backlog". www.airbus.com/newsroom/press-releases/en/2019/10/vietjet-orders-a321xlr-and-signs-airbus-training-services-agreement.html
