Smoking gun for a full blown criminal investigation? I hope it holds at least someone/people accountable.

Among the lies in there... "I'd ask for a job in sales where I can just get paid to drink with customers and lie about how awesome our airplanes are"...... is technically the truth! I really have to wonder what Boeing customers are thinking of their organisational culture now. Unbelievable stuff.

Smoking gun for a full blown criminal investigation? I hope it holds at least someone/people accountable. Not necessarily, in my opinion. I don't think this is new information, as the New York Times story already disclosed all this a few months ago (the paper apparently got wind of the information back in February or March). Furthermore, what they say in the text posted by Kevin is far from clear. So far, we have no information about the FBI investigation. I don't think these instant messages are enough for an indictment, let alone be tantamount to a smoking gun. As regards the FAA statement, I read it as rear-covering from the agency management. Didn't they read the NYT article when it was published ?

I really have to wonder what Boeing customers are thinking of their organisational culture now. Unbelievable stuff. I bet engineers in most companies would likewise say privately that they had rather move to sales in order to lie, and to dine and wine customers, instead of working. Many engineers also think that to work in the legal department means to lie extensively. Forget all that !
