I'm not sure but somebody can confirm that TK have a problem with the infrastructure of IST airport? TK have a enough demand to take the A380 but this airport can't assume A380.

I'd agree TK will take some A380s. Two at least. (speculation) Like they took the Jet 777-300ER back then. They seem to check a new type first before they define their own configuration.
Sad to see Malaysia Airlines suffer. Hope they recover soon. Sounds like they lose all A380 and 777. Leaving only the A330 for shorter long haul.

That's a shame. Well, as the article says, hopefully this will allow a new airline to acquire the aircraft cheaply and lead to new orders and who knows, maybe in 10, 15 years time, when MH recovers, they might decide to reorder the aircraft.
Regarding IST airport, the A380 has landed and parked at IST at least twice before although I'm not sure if the airport/terminal can handle more than one aircraft at a time. I believe they do have a new airport in planning/construction though.

You have to sign up for free, but the article is really good: www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/analysis-can-infrastructure-catch-up-with-turkey39s-burgeoning-air-411176/Basically TK's and Pegasus's growth at the moment is only limited by the infrastructure, as they have too much demand. This happened after the Turkish aviation industry has been opened up (deregulation). I would believe too that TK could fill the A380, would question though whether they can handle it at their current airport and would guess they'll have to wait until the new airport opens in 2017. I also believe that airlines other than TK could fill up an A380 to IST. Probably EK and maybe LH, if they win back customers that have been lost to TK.

The reasons are there and are many.....
The question is if TK can serve a few of their own A380 in IST ? I am not sure but a I do believe so....
But as always we will see.

They certainly can serve one or two at a time - and they can fill them with pax. BTW The A380 has been at the second airport SAW as well, which looks perfectly fine for any A380.

1. That's good news, though I doubt that it's true, as well it's not that unlikely that MH has got to sell their A380s unfortunately. 2. Always like it when there is a bit of uncertainty and we can all wait for what really happens

Leeham's report implies that MH would withdraw from all its long haul routes, selling as a consequence 777s, A380s, A330s. We'll see whether the restructuration goes that far. I don't think any decision has been made public yet.
