On the admin panel there is now a new message saying
"Your forum is nearing its storage limit for attachments (92% full)."

On the admin panel there is now a new message saying "Your forum is nearing its storage limit for attachments (92% full)." .. Fabien somehow this announcement was left unnoticed ! I do believe we have here an issue we should at least address and if possible find some solution. As it seems our extremely active member Helios91 seems to vanish there is now no one to publish the shots from fr24. In the beginning you + few others did it, then I took over and published most, than Helios came and frankly did better job than I did up to that he made his own flickr account (when the problem with space became obvious) and posted there. I stopped completely. Than we had quite a long period without a single fr24 shot, now in last few days you started publishing some as attachment ( ! ? ). Once more how should we address the 92% problem ? Should I create flickr account and start doing some fr24 again or is it acceptable to post a as attachments to the forum ? Up to that my original (and as I am sure TomParis's, Philidor's and others) offer stand.

A bold solution would be to block the use of attachments to all except the mods. Anyone with an internet connection can start a free account on Flickr, Imagr or Photobucket (and I'm sure there are more out there) to add photos and videos and then link to those in their post(s).

The last pictures I posted in fact (fr24) were through tinypic.com, just the link, (I specify it on the same post "with tinypic.com") that's in fact the way (or any other picture hoster) it should be for not to use the attachment of the forum, only posting the link or posting the link showing the picture..... I tried a fews days ago indeed to block attachments but couldn't find, I think this is not an option in the forum as AIUI this could be a revenue source for the forum-provider, users buying some more attachment space..... I guess then in fact the only limit that we could see, is in reaching the maximum capacity of the forum... then no more attachments available and some kind of obligation to find a picture-hoster..... (I created my tinypic account just a few days ago, very easy to use/manage and of course free ) tinypic.com/usermedia.php?uo=bbi8MiGk22PGX0hHXQb7KIh4l5k2TGxc#.VVAa9flViko

Sorry may have been my over use of attachments, I now know the problem and will try and set up a photo sharing account ! can a moderator take my attachments out ? Or do I need to do it myself ? I have no problem making a donation, but I do understand that it (file space) would just snowball on an exponential curve !

Q. Can you disable the attachment option on the Forum to stop it happening again ?
