I was a bit bored this evening after a crazy day, so I thought making this thread would be a good way of unwinding. As you all have figured, this thread is where people can post a picture or two of their pets, be it dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc. Below here is my dog Lily. She is my friend, my body pillow/bed warmer (she's great for naps!), my shadow, my bodyguard from things she thinks she can control such as thunderstorms, illness, or me going down the drain while taking a shower. She is an Airedale Terrier/Beagle mix that my family rescued about 12 years ago via an adoption agency. She has some health problems like arthritis for the most part, but she's still alive and kicking and enjoying life for the most part. Never a bad thing as she is definitely a social creature, always trying to sneak up to my neighbor's front door during a walk or saying hello to neighborhood kids. He had a fetish for tennis balls or anything that squeaked like any terrier would. He lived to be 14 years old before coming to old age. He and I never got along great as he would always growl at me if I ever wanted to say hello to him (everyone else was fine), but he did rock out his lifejacket. Hehe. Unusual thread, but why not. I'm a dog lover myself and I think they're such noble animals who bond very closely with their owners. Labs are my favourite and maybe huskies. But, after all that, unfortunately I don't think I have what it takes to keep one as a pet myself. My preference for a pet is something simple and dumb...like fish, lol . I used to keep a small koi pond a long time ago. Spending some time watching these things is what brings me calmness and I'm pretty sure you know this very well, considering your time in Japan! I'm always fascinated by their koi ponds and gardens - very artistic as well. My koi are no longer with me now. However, I've been contemplating on a getting a tropical reef tank when I can spare some time.
