The 316t variant is released. I think we can expect a further MTOW increase, also to cover the Qantas Sunrise project.

Hi guys, this is pure speculation on my part, but , how does an increased MTOW A350-1000 help Qatar? how much more capable would such an aircraft be versus the current frames? in my simple understanding, this increase means the frame can handle that much more weight, but, it does not say the frame can carry more fuel. any education/ further explanation will be appreciated.

In general, it depends on whether the aircraft is fuel volume limited (she could not tank any more fuel in the first place, so that increasing the MTOW allows more payload, but not more range), or MTOW limited (more fuel could be tanked but, not to exceed MTOW, the payload would have to be decreased accordingly). As the A35K is MTOW limited, any increase in MTOW would allow operators to carry either more payload (= more revenue) or more fuel (= more range), or to consider some combination of both.
