One issue however is that the A380 can't handle much in the way of cargo, whereas the B777 and B747 can. A fair amount of BA's revenue comes from cargo that is carried in the hold of pax flights.
Furthermore BA has 40+ 744s and the latest I heard was that they won't be retired until 2025+. Considering the fact that the price of oil has dropped significantly, there is much less of business case for fleet replacement.
BA's utilisation of A380s is also nowhere near 100%, there are always one or two frames just laying about in the engineering area. Therefore, I wonder where more A380s would fit in to the fleet.
