Spirit Airlines has delayed A320/321neo deliveries due Q2 2025 thru to late 2026 by 5 years too 2030 - 2031 ! +++++++++++ Deliveries for 2027-2029 are unchanged Tweet-
That must be a welcome news to Airbus and a few airlines, strangely. It is rare that early delivery slots like these suddenly become available, surely Airbus could sell them for more money. Has anyone worked out how many A320s and A321s they were due to receive between Q2 2025 and late 2026 ?

The company’s CEO Michael Rousseau unveiled the plans during Air Canada’s recent investor day. “It uses heating strips that melt the ice instead of having it removed during a stop at the deicing bay before takeoff,” Rousseau said. “This will not only save travel time but is expected to yield environmental benefits with less chemical deicing and reduced fuel burn. The airline is the launch customer for the De-Ice system and has confirmed it will install it on one its aircraft in the winter of 2024..."

Luckily it was not the fuselage skin that was damaged, just the fibreglass wing root fairing I believe.

Some news due in the next few weeks on Jet2s A320neo family options. Quote Aviationweek - "..Asked when Jet2 plans to exercise further options, Heapy said, “We're working on that at the moment, and we'll hopefully have something to say in the next few weeks.” He added that the arrival of the 232-seat A321neos is enabling capacity to be increased on existing routes, upgauging service from a 189-seat 737-800, rather than facilitating the launch of new ones..."
