A strange quote from the above article. "Emirates currently operates 81 Airbus 380s, more than any other airline, said Rob Gurney, Emirates senior vice president of commercial operations in the Americas". Has he been absent from office for a long time ? EDIT : sorry, as pointed out by jkkw, the article is not recent.

Analysis of possible new routes?.. who knows. One major question is whether BA considers using the A380 on transatlantic flights. The main roadblock is supposed to be the lack of A380-compatible facilities at their JFK terminal, but upgrade works are going on ; though no mention of A380 compatibility is made, could that be part of an undisclosed plan ?

In my opinion first route with new a380 should be LHR-SYD via SIN (like Qantas from summer 2018).

I haven't been following this forum too closely as of late, but it seems to have gone unnoticed (at least in this thread) that the above announcement became reality: First regular A380 service at ORD
