I have a question to the forum about the test fleet: Will Airbus keep all five XWB-planes or will Airbus sell two or three ? I think in future one or two test planes will be enough, like the two A380 (with different engines).

I believe Airbus said they will keep two aircraft with MSN1 being one frame and either MSN 2, 3 or 5 being the other (I can't remember which one).

If I were to venture a guess, I would say it is MSNs 1 and 3, which are the heavy instrumentation aircraft. The cabin fitted ones, 2+5, and the light instrumentation aircraft, 4, can be sold with minimum modifications. And I believe these aircraft are also on the low side in terms of hours flown.

I found this in Flight test 2014 thread: a380.boards.net/post/31918"The article mentions that Airbus will retain MSN1 and MSN2 and sell off the rest of the test fleet" There is another article which mentionned this: www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/airbus-expects-to-sell-some-of-a350-test-fleet-399185/IMO, Airbus will keep only MSN1 for continuous improvements and sell the rest of the fleet, but it depends if too much modifications were done during testing program.

Right but it was May 2014 article, which frankly says very little, so....
The only thing which can be said here and know - I am afraid is the obligatory: "WE WILL SEE"

Sorry is this for the -900 and already incorporated, improvements from now or for the -1000? I'm not sure if it is related but, in the AvWeek article I linked here, it says Airbus will add 20 seats for the -1000 and mentions that the cabin changes can be moved back to the -900.

Sorry is this for the -900 and already incorporated, improvements from now or for the -1000? At this point it's only a concept study. It should become available on both -900 and -1000 towards the end of the decade.
