The offer comes from Boeing and could go any way at this point. Vietnam's leader is on a landmark visit to the U.S. right now, so it could just be a moment of political PR.

Together with the 179 KC-46's for the USAF (to be delivered by 2027) that should keep the line open another 12 years And as it's already been open for 34 years suddenly that designator KC- 46 makes sense
