The situation seems to be clear : the aircraft have been delivered by Airbus to the lessor, but for some unknown reason they havn't been handed over to the airline (yet). They must be hoping the tariffs get dropped before delivery to Spirit, or the lessor may repurpose them and lease them to a non USA airline to avoid the tariff ?

They must be hoping the tariffs get dropped before delivery to Spirit, or the lessor may repurpose them and lease them to a non USA airline to avoid the tariff ? I doubt it, the delivery was long before the tarifs were even discussed. We saw it for the 4 other Tianjin NTUs last year, that Spirit did not integrated them right after contractual delivery to Aercap, but wait till the next year. The only difference they stored them in TLS and not somewhere else, maybe the tariffs are the reason for that.

So were they rushed deliveries to beat the tariff, but were not actually needed yet ?

They probably have an agreed price for each sub-type, and may still enjoy some time before having to decide on the breakdown. Could they be waiting for more A319neo data ?
