I'm sure the summer break for the FAL workers will come back once production is streamlined. The summer break was not cancelled ? I thought employees were offered overtime rates to work during the break ? Also I thought it was not compulsory ?

I'm sure the summer break for the FAL workers will come back once production is streamlined. This is not about individual vacations, which of course will not be challenged. It is nothing more than the choice of a method of providing for them. There are two way of taking into account staff holidays : either you close the facility with compulsory vacation dates (the same for all workers, with possibly a few exceptions), or you decide that the facility could be run with reduced staffing, and you use detailed summer planning and assign individual vacation dates to each worker. The second method is the most widespread, but very large production units often find the first one to be more simple. TLS now seems to use a mixture of these methods, since the factory is closed for a much shorter period (about two weeks) than yearly worker vacation entitlements. I could see a gradual change as an option, if it is to Airbus' advantage.

There was clearly a summer break in FAL (I guess the 1st 2 weeks). Look on the loading of A380s and A350s! Just 9 A320 1st flights. Just 2 move rotations in the A350 FAL. I doubt that the stop was longer in the other years. 2 weaks in the summer, 2 weaks at xmas, leaves just 2 week for free off.

I was not referring to FAL entries, just to cabin fit and delivery teams. The fact that Airbus delivered more planes in August then ever before means more people were present on site.

Looks like, August would be the first month this year when Airbus overwhelmed Boeing.

The questionnis as well if anyone of those aircraft graving delivery flight September 1, was contractually delivered the day before. While it won't effect the annual deliveries it may make August even higher

While it won't effect the annual deliveries it may make August even higher Bregier said Airbus delivered six A350s in August. He also said Airbus set a new August overall delivery record, but he did not provide the final number. We have to wait a couple more days.
