The one-off to Auckland will give Emirates the longest A380 route again: Dubai-Auckland is 14.189 km, 15h55min to Auckland, 17h15min to Dubai. Qantas now has the record with QF7/8 Sydney-Dallas with 13.804 km. A clever move from Emirates: getting the record back, having a 4th A380 in Auckland. As David Bowie said: Heroes, just for one day.

I'm almost tempted to call AKL mini Dubai! What on earth is EK doing with all those A380s down there in AKL??? This is a country where sheep vastly outnumber the people!
