P&W has signalled a 50 engines shortfall for next year. That is instead of delivering more engines to compensate for the shortfall this year. As I understand it, the 2017 50 engines shortfall is a comparison with previously projected numbers, not with 2016 delivery numbers. If that is correct, then P&W is behind plan but is ramping up, as in 2016. Of course, if we would see less engine produced in 2017 than 2016, it would be a ramp down. Projected A320-271N deliveries are based on projected engine deliveries. That projected shortfall will increase the number of delayed frames.

No wonder AirAsia said they are in good position to ask AB to bring forward their CFM-engined A320neo deliveries in 2017 from original 10 to possibly more than 20. If enough of those engines are available. Boeing expects to have an early EIS for the 737MAX and ramp faster. Will there be enough CFM LEAP for both Airbus and Boeing accelerate deliveries from planned numbers?

While a lot is common, the ramp up of Leap-1A (A320neo) may or may be not affecting the ramp up of Leap-1B (737max)

It seems to me that the A30neo ramp up is accelerating. There are 11 frames, 5 P&W and 6 LEAP, with engine having done their first flights. There are at least 5 frames, 4 P&W and 1 LEAP with engines in pre flight preparations.
I expect an increasing number of deliveries in the near future.

42 delivered today, will 50 be reached before year-end?.... I think we will see around 70. 42 are delivered. 12 have had their first flight. 4 are in pre flight preparation. That makes 58 that I am sure about. Around 20 frames are parked and waiting for engines. It depends mainly on how many engines will arrive at Airbus before the middle of December.
