They did say DTW will be the first base, with SEA likely to follow. I'm not questioning that they will be deployed on LAX-SYD someday, but I don't think it will be the instant Delta starts taking delivery of them. If I had to guess, I'd say the inaugural will likely be DTW-PVG. I am thinking we should know by April at the earliest.
One juicy piece of information I noticed in the news article mentioned above is that we are "crunching the numbers" for an LAX-MEL flight.

And in the press release regarding premium economy, DL also gives a breakdown of how many seats the aircraft will have which gives a total of 306 seats. news.delta.com/delta-premium-debut-2017And here's a 360 degree view of the what the premium economy seat/section (as mentioned by HL7615 above) on the A350 will look like

Glad to see them in my backyard soon. If I had to guess, I'd say it would have to be our PVG flight out of here. The first one should be entering FAL soon, no?

On the employee's Facebook group, they have a few pictures of the simulator in Atlanta as seen in a tweet many months ago. The thing that amuses me most (and really gets my OCD going) is that the A350 text written on the simulator is actually in Boeing's font.
