Another look on this: www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/55134-delta-to-review-widebody-order-book"Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) is set to review its widebody order portfolio given continuing overcapacity concerns. Speaking during a quarterly earnings call this week, Chief Executive Officer Ed Bastian said: "We continue to see excess capacity in wide-bodies as we look to the future for the industry as a whole. We continue to look internally as to what that means to Delta and we are in discussion with our OEM partners on what that means. And you could anticipate some reductions, I think broadly over the next several years." Bastian added that in his view, the issue of overcapacity was not limited to Delta but was a problem affecting carriers the world over. "Supply is growing in many international markets in excess of demand. And with the amount of new wide-bodies, and a lot of them by the way being triggered from the Middle East, is going to create some really significant pressures on pricing in the wide-body market," he added. According to an SEC filing, Delta's widebody order portfolio, as of March 31, 2017, stands at one A330-300, twenty-five A330-900neo, and twenty-five A350-900s. This year, Delta will also begin retiring its transatlantic B767 fleet, its domestic aircraft of the type having already gone. As such, three transatlantic B767s will be retired this year, Bastian said. Delta is also pushing to retire the remaining seven B747-400s it has in service. These will be replaced by A350s as they begin arriving later this year."

DL's statements are remarkably moderate, as opposed to some excessive comments you can read everywhere.

Without much further ado, here's what I saw in Atlanta earlier this month. I'm aware of the watermark, but you can never be too cautious.

When we take into consideration delta intentions to postpone 10 a350-900 deliveries from 2019 and 2020, new delivery schedule will look as follows: 2017 5x 2018 6x 2019 4x 2022 3x 2023 7x
