Surely there is a point where a customer, having requested a manufacturer to construct a product for them within a certain timeframe, has no right to delay the purchase without a financial penalty. From a legal standpoint, you are right. Legal aspects, however, are only part of the relationship between a manufacturer and a customer. Commercial concerns favour a compromise, especially when the customer is seen as having a bright future.
