Well looking at the schedule - they do run her HARD - no overnight pause scheduled just completely nonstop ! Technically there is a break between AK5117 and AK5110 (the times quoted are UTC so the aircraft is scheduled to be on the ground between 9:30pm and 6:30am). I'm just nitpicking though so sorry. It is actually not that different. Just like LH they have started using the aircraft on short domestic runs into destinations were they actually have a hub. The main difference is that LH in the beginning had 4 daily flights, while AirAsia is running 6 You should also consider the length of the flights. Together FRA-HAM-FRA-MUC-FRA is shorter than one KUL-BKI. Consider time in the air during 24 hours ! I've just crunched the numbers! Scheduled aircraft utilisation is 12 hours per day. Given the AirAsia average is around 15 hrs/day (I had an assignment not too long ago that required me to look that up ) and the A320neo is a new engine type at least to the fleet, 12 hours/day ain't bad!!

Exactly - LH utilization was long time only bellow 3 hours/day - which is quite a considerable difference, is better today still far from 12 hours.
Indian utilization is close to AirAsia.

You are comparing apples to oranges. Air Asia takes advantage of prior experience, and enjoys a fully performing aircraft, whereas LH was first to introduce a new sub-type, still plagued with engine issues well documented on this site. Obviously, the -neo now has become as reliable as expected.

What is your definition of utiliization, just time in air? LH frames are used for 6-8 flights per day from early morning 6am till late evening 11pm up to 17h a day!

The utilization is now OK - as you say. I was speaking about several month of two short rounds MUC, HAM etc. and that was all - while Indigo made two or three much longer rounds like 2-3 hour flights. i.e. LH had the planes in the air 3 hours while in the same time Indigo had them in the air for more like 10 hours. But the planes were new and it was more less testing. LH was just "testing" while in the same time Indigo was already "using" them
