Interesting article about QR and other UAE subsidies. If the numbers are correct they are truly astronomical. www.aviator.aero/press_releases/29649...Qatar provided more than $7 billion to the company in fiscal 2014-15 and authorized a further $3.7 billion in subsidies. This enormous subsidy is in addition to the $17 billion Qatar Airways had already received from its state owner in the past decade.... The discovery of additional subsidies directly contradicts information that Qatar Airways submitted to the United States government, as well as public claims by CEO Akbar al Baker. Qatar Airways has long refused to release its full compendium of financial documents, and this state-sponsored subsidy, like many others, was omitted from the official filing submitted to the U.S. government’s public docket.

We should be very careful with such numbers, especially when neither side is straightforward.
