This thread seems the most ideal. are Airbus test pilots considered commercial pilots? if so are they required to retire at 65?

Test pilots follow their own rules, which can be stricter than airline pilots'. For instance, they fly fewer hours (I don't know their age limit). Test pilots could easily, of course, become commercial pilots ; in that case, they would be subject to airline pilot rules.

I have heard for a long time of the poor effect of investigations on sales teams morale. Criticism often focuses on the appointment of American consultants to conduct internal ethical assessments.
Linking the commercial aircraft sales performance this year to the effect of ongoing investigations may however be a stretch. Teams selling military equipment or helicopters may feel more deeply concerned.

This is upsetting news ... Looking outside for this high-profile job is a slap in the face to the sales team. The salesmen will resent the lack of trust. Good luck to find a suitable successor, and good luck to the future appointee ...
I see this decision as a desperate move from Enders to keep his position. I doubt very much he can succeed.

Good luck to find a suitable successor, and good luck to the future appointee ... There are other talents. Kiran Rao, while not in the running to succeed Leahy, has proven to be a competent sales guy. Actually Leahy has been talking about a possible retirement in 2017/2018 for years. This shouldn't come as a surprise.
