Rain and wet runways sometimes create an eerie atmosphere and make for some interesting pictures. I like the five first pictures in your latest post more than the blue-skied ones ... Just a matter of taste, I suppose.

A fabulous group of photos Jkkw! The A380 v B747 faceoff is great and shows the greater engine size, body mass that is normally difficult to appreciate. The Qatar shot of course shows the relative enormity of our beloved plane. Thanks fanairbus Glad you like them! As you mention, with the A380 I find it's sometimes quite easy to forget how big it is until you see it with something else to get a sense of scale. On a side note, I love how tall the tail is on the aircraft, makes it really easy to spot when parked at terminals! Since you mentioned the faceoff pic, I'll post this here again (I'm pretty sure I've posted in one of the previous years cool pics thread but I'll post it again in case you haven't seen it) Qantas A380 VH-OQJ SYD 2013 by JKKW, on Flickr Rain and wet runways sometimes create an eerie atmosphere and make for some interesting pictures. I also really like this last one, would you have it by any chance less cropped, with the 4 engines on the A380?......

Many thanks FabienA380 !!! It's interesting to see what everyone's favorites are! Unfortunately I don't have a version of that image that is less cropped and includes all 4 engines. Sorry! (If I do get a time machine though, I'll make sure I ask my 2013 self to get one that isn't so cropped for you! )

Pics from early November when MH operated a few one off A380 flights to Sydney. They've scheduled a few more A380 flights for next year so hopefully these won't be the last pics from me of MH's super jumbos! Anyway, I've got quite a few more pics from the last few months that I'm slowly uploading onto flickr and you can be sure to see those soon on the 2018 pictures thread. So on that note, enjoy the last few hours of 2017 and I hope you all have a great 2018 Malaysia Airlines A380 9M-MNF Syd Nov 17 by JKKW, on Flickr Malaysia Airlines A380 9M-MNF Syd Nov 17 by JKKW, on Flickr An airport vehicle trying to race the A380 Malaysia Airlines A380 9M-MNF Syd Nov 17 by JKKW, on Flickr Malaysia Airlines A380 9M-MNF Syd Nov 17 by JKKW, on Flickr Triple A380s! Yes thanks so much Jkkw. They take me back 7 years when we visited Sydney. It started poorly from an airline experience when we caught the flight from Cairns to Sydney but our baggage didn't and we hadn't been informed. Yes, we were the last ones waiting expectantly at the carousel and then trying to find help! Later we had the great experience of flying the Qantas A380 business class to Los Angeles - a very new experience; three weeks later 2-3 of them were grounded there because of the A380's engine explosion over Indonesia.

Many thanks addasih , FabienA380 and fanairbus Very nice pictures indeed Jkkw . Happy new year for you too. You will be one of the first members to celebrate it Thanks, yeah, we've got less than half an hour left to enjoy 2017! Interesting experiences fanairbus ! You might not have been that lucky with your bags but you were indeed very lucky to have made it out on the A380, by memory it was the entire fleet that was grounded, not just one or two! It's weird to think that the incident occurred 7 years ago already, to me it feels like it happened not too long ago. I hope you enjoyed your visit down under!
