For a new year, how about a general Qatar / AB discussions thread ? It might save the contamination of the other threads I will start (spout) off ! 1. Are they just picky, or the best airline in the world ? 2. Do they have any money left ? 3. Do they really want to expand their short haul network ? 3b. If they did want to expand it, why after cancelling their expected new neo deliveries have they not just leased other available ceo frames to fill their expansion gap ? They never had one ? . . . 999. Is it all just a commercial scam ?

As I explained in the "QR A350s" thread, I don't buy these rumours.

As I explained in the "QR A350s" thread, I don't buy these rumours. LATAM announced they were pulling the A350 from various routes, with no new routes announced ! They have too many planes ? A cheap lease to QR for 4 aircraft might help them both out !

A cheap lease to QR for 4 aircraft might help them both out ! I doubt LATAM's own lease payments for these planes are cheap ! ... And I doubt QR is in a position to take four A350s on top of those they have on order - unless of course some of the latter are delayed in agreement with Airbus.

Wonder what impact current situation in Qatar will have on deliveries and/or cancellations.

Wonder what impact current situation in Qatar will have on deliveries and/or cancellations. If it is a short crisis, quickly resolved through negociation, then there will be no effect at all. If however QR faces a protracted crisis, then the consequences may be dire. I believe in a short confrontation. The US and some regional powers like Kuweit will help Qatar through the situation.

I personally believe so as well. The last thing that region needs now is more unrest. Regards, Arjen
