guys. those black tracks in the floor. are they wheel tracks for the various jigs to move towards and away from the Airframe during assembly? I'm always perplexed how the frames are crowded with structures during assembly..

Yes they are. I think though that the Boeing's 787 production line is a lot simpler and less cluttered and they seem to pump them out faster than Airus can?

I think though that the Boeing's 787 production line is a lot simpler and less cluttered and they seem to pump them out faster than Airus can? 2 FAL locations for B787, although AB have multiple stations doing the same task in 1 FAL e.g. 4 x S50s Boeing method has the problem that if you have a problem with one frame the others are stuck behind It in the que !

We've seen that very recently when the left wing of Xiamen Airlines 787 frame been accidentally damaged by factory worker, it stuck there for investigation and repair (after approval from the airline), they really can't move around it at all.

Also the slow down in the Charleston line when they loaded the -10 test frames. Anyway their process is much more muture with 500+ frames delivered !
