Seems odd to have bought ERs then use them on shortish flights ? SQ have a bunch of 772 with derated engines and there are a few long haul routes they use the aircraft on.

Seems odd to have bought ERs then use them on shortish flights ? It's an established practice from several Asian airlines to 'abuse' long haul aircraft on comparatively short trips in-between long flights so as to secure intensive aircraft use. The idea seems to be 'better abuse an aircraft than leave her on the ground'.
