I have a question concerning the later passenger A330s please: Do they have some special "extending gear" in order to let them park horizontal? Like some gear struts that can be extended to make the airplane park exactly horizontal not slightly nose down like ealier? Thanks.

No, only on the A332 F is the A330 fuselage horizontal.

... and I thought it was the wee pre-flight nerve-steadier in the bar that had done it!

Do we need such a thread? IMO it should have been asked in A340 general discussions.
Of course I meant A330

It's a very specific question about late built A330 in the passenger version. NOT a 340 question at all. Like a claim by somebody I wanted to confirm. It's not a general topic. So a separate thread seems justified. BTW I don't see what problem might be created by a new thread for such a new topic? If the headline feels boring why click on it?

If we do a new thread for every question it will become a flood. In this case the simple answer is no.
