Climb almost always uses less thrust than at take off, no? I've seen this with pretty much every take off. Here you can see the pilot pulling back the thrust a few moments after take off. foreigner , good luck with your book! Edit: You'll find some good answers in this a.net thread. www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1403959pulling throttles back in this case only change from Flx/Mct to CL (1 notch changes and you can hear the PIC call out climb mode on FMS) which has no indication of the "actual thrust" this only changes the mode of A/T the actual thrust settings are in FMS

4 kg weight saving per aircraft may not sound much but additive layer manufacturing is going to be that next step change in weight and cost reduction in the way that CFRP was revolutionary.
CFRP was introduced in small pieces in aircraft such as the A300, and such content grew to over 50% on the A350 through the years.
Likewise, we will see the amount of '3D-printed' aircraft components grow over the next several years, and this will translate into significant savings.

original 23 planes order seems to be void now .... Well, the September 18th Flightglobal story says the airline is to review it, which by itself is evidence that the order still stands .

original 23 planes order seems to be void now .... Well, the September 18th Flightglobal story says the airline is to review it, which by itself is evidence that the order still stands . it requires two levels of gov approval and it only went through the first one .... the order never made it to OEM.....

Boeing's order to lose. Air Austral already operates 787s, don't they?
