such a pain to see those 2 a350s gathering dust...aaah well... These are 2 of the 7 completed A350 frames that cannot leave TLS until the CAAC has approved the type. There are also 14 frames for QR delayed and/or parked and 2 -1000s for Cathay. Parking must be quite a problem. Geoff

There were many more aircraft sitting in both TLS and XFW two months ago. Thanks to the year-end delivery push, parking is not a problem now.
EDIT : I realise we are having this A350 discussion in the wrong thread.

People should stop mixing up A350-900 and A350-1000. There are 7 A350-900 Qatar frames delayed MSN100, 106, 114, 126, 143, 163, 172 + 1 delivered MSN132, but not flown out. One A350-1000 Qatar frame is delayed MSN88, not known if the reason is Airbus or Qatar, the others are not ready, neither further Qatar frames nor Cathay frames, those frames are worked upon.

I agree that the reasons for the QR -1000s being delayed are different from the reasons for the -900s being delayed. But all 14 are still delayed. Some have been delayed after production others have been pulled out during the production process. I was surprised that MSNs 207 and 211 recently entered production with no prospect of them being delivered on a ‘standard’ timescale. It does look as though MSNs 214 and 215 are being held, back which is sensible from an Airbus perspective. Geoff

Geoff I just do not agree, that A350-1000 apart from MSN88 are delayed and that one was anyway not a certainty to be delivered end of December. Certification happened on the 21.11.2017 and the frames are being reworked, when that has happened they will get outfitted, painted and delivered. You do not get certification and deliver 10 frames in two or three month, if you have to rework them.

The whole A350-1000 program is delayed. Airbus did not want rework nor did it want so many frames in the production process for so long before delivery. If they had known what was going to happen they would surely have not have brought that many -1000s into production when they did. Geoff
