I hope these sales rumours come true, but Sylvain Faust has more insight into A220 production than into sales.

The A220-300 is already approx the same side as the A319, so for a 1:1 replacement, a stretch isn’t needed

There is huge demand for aircraft with 100-150 seats over the next 20 years 7,000 not necessarily huge demand for A220 !

Simpleflying is misrepresenting Airbus' forecasts. As pointed out by Stealthmanbob, the numbers are a prediction for a market segment, not expected demand for the A220 alone. From the same story : "Airbus believes that in the next 20 years there will be demand for 7,000 aircraft with a seat range of 100-150 seats". Apart from existing aircraft, new designs will enter the market in the next twenty years.
