That's an interesting twist ... Who is the lessor and which frames are concerned are the main questions. EDIT : I just read in the 'Airbus orders 2019' thread that the lessor is DAE Capital.

More interesting is how do they plan to fill those. They now operate 5xA332 + 1xA333 + 6x 737s.
EDIT: Good news is that those frames finaly found home.

Hey guys, with regards to Emirates Order. Why does it take so long to sign a contract and set a delivery schedule?

Hey guys, with regards to Emirates Order. Why does it take so long to sign a contract and set a delivery schedule? EK's A350 and A339 orders haven't been officially booked yet, and neither have EK's A380 cancellations. There could still be some details to address, but the press releases leave no room for doubt, the changes will be made, most probably at the same time - I believe officialisation is in store for the upcoming Le Bourget air show.

There's also the Dubai Airshow at the end of the year if EK feels like making us and Airbus wait a bit.

EK's A350 and A339 orders haven't been officially booked yet, and neither have EK's A380 cancellations. We know for sure that it will happen eventually, and they are probably working out the details. There is no going back on the A380 line shut down. That is pretty much set in stone.
