But it is awaiting delivery of a 338-seater A330-800neo leased from Montrose Global. is that a typo? 338?? it never occurred to me before, do we know the max capacity or intended max capacity at which the 338 should be certified?

The wiki page says the A330-800neo has a maximum capacity of 406.
The article though more importantly and to my surprise, stresses the deep challenges Arkia is facing, lately cutting routes, asking staff pay cuts and likely lay offs coming too.
I hope this is just a time to adjust for them, also it is mentioned that their Embraers might be eventually replaced by more A320Family aircraft.

I don't know. It's more like which one they will get first IF ANY. Msn 1973 (acc Tobias) or 1976 (acc Planespotters but supposedly for AirAsia X).
