I believe 2 A350s (MSN507 and 513) are due in 2022 as well but the statement was edited to add in the "three A339s".
Maybe the unedited version wrote as "the airline has welcomed seven new Airbus A350-1000 with a further A350-100 (MSN492) entering the fleet in 2021." I think its just down to lazy editing lol

As a long time supporter to VS (without the pandemic, I would have made Life Time Gold with VS by now), I’d love to see three brand new A330neo joining the fleet this year.
With Delta building a large sub fleet of A330neo and A350, it does make sense for VS to do the same. Hopefully with these A330neo replacing the 10 A333s and global travel recovery, we could see VS exercise the 6 A330neo options soon, just like what they did with the A350s.
Now I do not expect them to convert the 4 B789 options at all.

I have heard that they will firm 3 options for a total of 17 A/C joining the fleet, however it could be false info...

Interesting, seems they have missed out on MSN2018, 2019 and 2025

3 in 2022, 3 in 2023 and 4 in 2024. "The first factory-fresh A330-900 comes this September, with two more following before the year-end and an A350-1000. Additionally, a further three A330-900s will be delivered next year and another A350-1000. Further out, four A330-900s are due for delivery arriving in 2024, and an additional A350. These new aircraft will replace older A330s and Boeing 787s as they enter service." simpleflying.com/virgin-atlantic-cargo-airbus-a321-lease/
