I'm not aware of Swiss inducted anymore 777s in recently. The last one was in 2019.

I hadn't claimed "recently" but the final end-2019 were behind the others. As Swiss is LH owned by LH "LH" does operate ERs. The LH group at least.

Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said the airline will decide before the end of July if it will bring back the A380 into the summer schedule of 2023 or select other options, including sourcing Boeing 777-300ERs to bridge the gap until delivery of the first 777-9. Here my story on AirInsight after attending the media roundtable with Spohr at the IATA AGM in Doha today:

Does anybody know exactly what kind of work a twelve year old, stored A380 needs to get going again? Only know it's not called a D check, but Heavy maintenance. "The A380s don't have C or D checks, Airbus introduced maintenance intervals for this program. > Base maintenance: every 750 flight hours > Light maintenance: every 24 months > Intermediate check: every 6 years > Heavy maintenance: every 12 years The downtime differs per airline and depends on what kind of work needs to be done. Some airlines combine a cabin reconfiguration with a maintenance interval (Qantas, Lufthansa) while others combine the wing modification with it. And others are just doing the required work." www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=571479Also, www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2017-06-19/airbus-adjusts-a380-maintenance-plan-take-account-aging

LH CEO: it takes time. And they have only 14 pilots with the required A380-license. So they will train A350 pilots.
