So, what do we think? Is she in the paint shop already and can we expect a glimpse next week? I sure hope so!  Considering that top Airbus executives are needed for the Mobile FAL groundbreaking on the 8th, If Airbus does an official rollout with the A350 in full colours it will either be in the next few days or at the earliest halfway through next week. Does anyone here know how long it takes to paint an A350 sized aircraft? Thats what I thought, people like F. Bregier will most likely be in the States next week, I'm just really anxious to see her in full glory I believe Airbus paints an A380 in about 1,5 to 2 weeks and taking into account that the Airbus house colors are white for the majority of the aircraft painting could be finished within a week or so. We will see  IF she was transfered to the paint shop right after engine attachment last Wednesday I guess it should be possible? |

Engine cowls were installed around March 28.

Sometimes I imagine the aircraft being tested and flied before being painted, like production A380s, to keep a low profile and speed up first flight. This would be unusual practice, though.

It's been two weeks now since MSN001 got her engines. I'm guessing the big day is sometime next week? Shall we bet on the date? It's been 3 weeks already  I remember the 26th for the engine attachment, it's the 14th now. C'mon Airbus, show her!! I'm betting on Thursday the 18th |

Departing from the tradition of officially unveiling the aircraft before first flight would undermine Airbus's own confidence in the plane. That would be bad PR. It's best if they stick to the normal way of doing things. No need for extra PR effort either. It's been two weeks now since MSN001 got her engines. I'm guessing the big day is sometime next week? From the MSN003 Thread Thanks:) I can confirm MSN001 was still on C63 earlier this week..(at least on Weds) so MSN001 presumably was going through continued tests and/or final installation of parts (which I doubt given how Airbus has ensured each part of the aircraft was finished before moving on to the next part of the assembly process). Hopefully it will be painted in the coming days before have rollout by the end of the month |
