according to atdb transaero cancelled order for 4 a380. I wonder if they ever paid any money up front for the first two frames ? Although I guess the cancellation fee might be higher than what they have already paid ?

I guess the cancellation fee might be higher than what they have already paid ? They should not worry about any debt they may have. They are not paying anything any more.

Airframers try to boost sales by accepting small deposits, while customers are happy to conserve cash as long as possible. On the other hand, airframers often link price discounts to high cancellation fees.

It is closed case. They have debts well over USD 1 bn and no property i.e. AB knows he is going to get nothing from them and so.... what they got they have. They might charge some cancellation fee but it is only accounting/tax game no real money changing hands.

Airbus's latest O&D spreadsheet shows 3 of Transaero's A380s order have been transfered to a lessor called Air Accord whilst one aircraft has been cancelled.

Thanks Jkkw! So the 2 first ones should still be MSN196 and MSN212, we'll miss for now the 3rd MSN then....

Thanks Jkkw! So the 2 first ones should still be MSN196 and MSN212, we'll miss for now the 3rd MSN then.... Not necessary, as they might get another MSN? Anyway, that means one less doubtful A380 order in Airbus' books as one frame was cancelled. However, the three orders now with Accord is still in the doubtful category in my opinion
